Lionesses Keep Hope Alive With Dramatic Win Over Netherlands

England Won 3-2 at Wembley in the UEFA Women's Nations League

Ella Toone Scored the Late Winner

Ella Toone's late winner kept England's UEFA Women's Nations League hopes alive as the Lionesses beat the Netherlands 3-2 at Wembley.

England needed to win the game to keep their hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals alive, and they got off to a good start when Lauren James opened the scoring in the first half.

However, the Netherlands fought back and equalised through Vivianne Miedema in the second half.

England then took the lead again through Alessia Russo, but the Netherlands equalised for a second time through Lineth Beerensteyn.

With the game heading for a draw, Toone popped up with a late winner to give England a vital victory.

The win keeps England in contention for a place in the semi-finals, and they will now face Switzerland in their final group game on Tuesday.
